T.H.R.I.V.E NOLA

T.H.R.I.V.E. NOLA (Testing for HIV and Reducing the number of Infections among the most Vulnerable Ethnic groups in New, Orleans, LA.) and will address  the behavioral, psychological and/or socioeconomic conditions  that place  the target population at higher risk for contracting HIV/AIDS.

The project will target those identified by  Louisiana Health Department surveillance data  as the most  vulnerable,  and will be designed to reduce health disparities  in identified  geographic  areas of severe need,  disproportionately  affected  by HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and  tuberculosis (TB).   The specific populations targeted through T.H.R.I.V.E.  NOLA  will include  men who have sex with men of all races and ethnicities, including transgender, gay, bisexual  and  those who do not self-identify as gay, intravenous drug users of all races/ethnicities and high risk  heterosexual men and women (serostatus known or unknown), ages 18 and up, residing in the Greater New Orleans metropolitan statistical area or the G.N.O. MSA.  The MSA encompasses the seven parish region of Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, St. Charles, St. James and St. John the Baptist .  These parishes, collectively known in the State of Louisiana as Region I, contain the 2nd   highest incidence of HIV/AIDS and STI case rates in the nation.

REFERRAL PROCESS:

Clients are welcome to refer themselves as long as they meet eligibility. Walk-ins are welcome! Clients may also be referred by case manangers, AIDS Service Organizations, mental health programs offering supportive services to those living with HIV/AIDS. Call or email us and we will send you a referral form.
